Highline Chamber Ensemble and composer Eric Lemmon will present The Impossible Will Take a Little While, an oratorio based on the collection of essays and poetry by Paul Rogat Loeb. The Impossible Will Take a Little While offers everyday people hope and insights from leaders credited with impacting their respective societies, such as Nelson Mandela and Vaclav Havel. These essays highlight the legions of unsung people and political acts that have led to social change and progress.

The concert on September 7th will feature Mezzo-Soprano Kate Maroney, Soprano Elisabeth Halliday-Quan, Tenor Brandon Snook, and Baritone Wayne Arthur Paul. Highline Chamber Ensemble will be led by composer and conductor Whitney George, and the event will be preceded by a pre-concert talk on The Impossible Will Take a Little While by the composer, Eric Lemmon. The main concert will be accompanied by a host of smaller events including two free chamber concerts featuring excerpts of The Impossible Will Take a Little While alongside other politically minded works, with an hour-long live-streamed rehearsal on September 6th, at 8:00PM.
